Our U17/18 Youth team will play this season on the U18 Premier Elite Division of the Surrey Youth League which consists of 17 teams. (There is no U17 division this season.) After a slow start, with a loss and several draws, the team went on a run, which has propelled it to the top of the Table, see Match ReportsOur Fixtures and results for the season are listed.

Under 17 or 18 and looking for a Football team?
Many clubs fold at this age group, so if you’re a player who’s been left without a club, Kew AFC Youth is running two U17 and one U18 teams this season - the U18 Youth team will play in the Surrey Youth League, the U17 Colts in the Surrey Primary League and the U17 Casuals in the Epsom and Ewell Youth League.  We’re looking for top players to boost our Youth squad, but also looking to strengthen our Colts side as they start in a new League.  Come down to training on a Thursday evening at Ham Sports ground on Riverside Drive and see head coach Andy Gates.

The core of the Kew Association Under 17/18 Youth still comes from the team that manager, Craig Evans, and assistant manager, Andy Gates, have nurtured since starting the side as North Kingston Colts back in 2005. See History

Craig Evans

As head coach of the Youth section, Andy employs a simple philosophy of Control, Pass and Move, which makes Kew Youth one of the most attractive teams to watch in the league. Andy is also Youth section Secretary and the main driving force behind Kew Association Youth.

Early in the season, Craig followed his son, Nik to our U17 Colts. Andy Gates took over as manager with Bill Evans taking on the role of assistant manager.

The team has continued to progress, although struggling in the latest season. It started in U13 Division One of the Surrey Youth League as North Kingston Colts, earning promotion to Premier Division North, where as Under 14s, they finished just below midtable in their first season. As U15s, the side built on that progress last season, leading the table for several weeks, and eventually finishing third. They would have been promoted to one of the two existing Premier Elite leagues, but the SYL decided to consolidate them into just a single Elite league for this season. Kew therefore remained in Premier North, but it proved to be a much more challenging league, with up to half its teams coming out of the previous year’s Elite leagues. Kew eventually finished bottom of the league. For details of the U16 season, follow this link.
