The Kew and Ham Sports Association administer our clubhouse and grounds in Riverside Drive, Ham.
OFFICIAL OPENING: Kew Association FC’s new clubhouse was officially opened by Kate Hoey MP, the sports advisor to the Mayor of London.
Peter Clarke, chairman of the Kew and Ham Sports Association, helps Kate Hoey unveil the plaque marking the opening of our new clubhouse on 27 September, 2009.
Many favourable comments were received from our distinguished visitors to the clubhouse opening:“I was very impressed and the members of Kew and Ham Sports Association deserve a great deal of credit for the work put in to achieve the result they have,” Kate Hoey, MP“Congratulations, very well done,” Susan Kramer, MP“The result is a credit to Kew and Ham and to the Borough and has set a very high standard to other clubs,” Andy Sutch, Chair Sport Richmond“Thank you for inviting me to your Opening I felt very honoured to join you in your celebrations and the result is a credit to us all,” Melanie, Football Foundation
KEW CHANGING ROOM COMPLEXOn 11 May 2009 the Football Foundation made the final payment against the agreed offer, following examination by their accountants of all the receipts and information we had supplied.
The Football Foundation offered 73% of the cost and the Board were required to raise the remaining 27% and in the end were successful in raising nearly £150,000, which was more than 18%.
The balance of the funding has been covered by two interest free loans which have to be repaid and will take approximately 8 years to repay, if payments are met regularly and on time.
As a result of this commitment the Board are limited in the finance available to maintain and expand the facilities and still requires that all members to volunteer to meet some of the daily mundane requirements to maintain the building.
If any member has access or knowledge of openings for sponsorship or donations towards the building then they should contact myself.
The Board have now commenced the work of upgrading the standard of the pitches and again this will take considerable funding (£24,700 this summer and probably another £10,000 next summer) and whilst the Board have been very successful in obtaining grants there will be a deficit, so we will be asking all soccer and baseball sections to contribute to fund-raising to cover that deficit
